Each Liqui-Gel contains 200 mg of ibuprofen in a liquid form, which dissolves and absorbs faster than a standard tablet. Ibuprofen is an NSAID that reduces both pain and the inflammation behind it — effective for muscle, joint, and menstrual pain in particular.

Frequently asked questions
Q: Advil vs Tylenol — which should I take?
Tylenol (acetaminophen) is generally first-line for fever, headache, and gentle pain relief — it's easier on the stomach and kidneys. Advil (ibuprofen) is better for inflammatory pain (muscle strain, sprains, menstrual cramps, dental pain) because it reduces inflammation. Many doctors recommend alternating them every 3 hours for severe pain.
Q: How much Advil can I take?
For healthy adults, the maximum daily dose of over-the-counter ibuprofen is 1200 mg (6 Liqui-Gels) over 24 hours, with at least 4–6 hours between doses. Take with food or milk to protect the stomach.
Q: Who shouldn't take Advil?
People with stomach ulcers, kidney disease, heart failure, uncontrolled high blood pressure, or those taking blood thinners should avoid ibuprofen unless their doctor approves. Pregnant women in the third trimester also shouldn't take it. We're happy to do a quick review.
Q: Can I take Advil with food?
Yes — always take ibuprofen with food, milk, or a snack to reduce the risk of stomach irritation and ulcers.
From The Boardwalk Pharmacy team
If you find yourself reaching for Advil more than 2–3 days a week for the same kind of pain (especially headaches), come talk to us — there may be a better long-term plan. Frequent NSAID use can damage the stomach and kidneys over time.
